Purification is done through a germicidal and photo-oxidation process. The air is pulled into an aluminum UV reaction chamber where the air passes parallel to the UV lamps bombarding it w/ UVC &UVV Light and destroying airborne biological and chemical contaminants in the air. The air then continues through the pre-filter then through the HEPA filter.
The unit can be installed as a stand-alone, as a bypass unit through ducting or it can be directly mounted to the return on your furnace.
